Mark 11:25 ~ Truly Forgive

Mark 11:25 ~ Truly ForgiveMark 11:25 ~ Truly Forgive Sep 10, '10 by Vicky for everyone

And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive him, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins." ~ Mark 11:25
On Facebook someone posted:
On this day God wants you to know that no matter how good you try to be to others, you will occasionally hurt them. Forgive yourself for it. The same will happen with them. Forgive them for it.
God tells us that we must forgive in order to be forgiven. We say that we do and too often we do not. The moment we turn up our nose at someone, speak against them or gossip about them we have destroyed the bonds of forgiveness with our Lord.
To be fruitful in good works we must be loving, forgiving, giving and kind. When our mouth or our mind grumble about another being, the very fruit we think we are producing rots and falls from the tree. Our faith in God can help us to see others in the light of His love. No matter that we like or dislike their looks, demeanor or actions, we must remember that God loves them as much as He does us. When we rise up in judgment of another we place His judgment on our own head and will reap that which we sow. As we build mountains between one another we place walls between self and our Father in Heaven. We must, too, remember to forgive self and know that as we ask, He forgives our faults.
Father, we pray first to seek You and Your kingdom. We pray for the wisdom and strength to not sin, in spirit and in truth. Show us those whom we harbor angst against and show us when we, perhaps, do not realize that we do not stand justly in Your sight. Too often we are fooled by self or the enemy and we think we are justified. Thank You for the reminder that we are only justified by You and the death of Christ on the cross. By all other standards we are truly awry and must continue in a faithful, obedient relationship with You that we might see the light clearly. Thank You, Lord, for Your mercy and grace on our imperfect perceptions. ~ In Jesus name, Amen.
