What's Your Sign? It May Be ChangingReports of new Zodiac signs are causing identity crises around the world. We set out to meet with a local astrologer to sort it all out.
New fuel for a 2,000-year-old argument; recent articles have popped up saying a wobble in the Earth's axis over time has actually moved the astrological houses as we know them, creating a 13th zodiac sign.
"Well, we know she's got a big belly. She sort of wobbles in her orbit. They're saying that the fixed planets have sort of moved, and to that point, if you're looking as, myself a Capricorn, I'm supposed to be a Sagitarian now," explained local astrologer, Judy Nowak.
Nowak, who is from Cortland, is an ordained minister with a Bachelors degree in Metaphysical Science. She started studying astrology in 1988, and says here in the Western World, we associate our horoscopes with the Tropical Zodiac, which is based on the seasons.
"We are always interested in the sun as being our main focus. Where is the sun? Where is the equinox? At what season are we dealing with in our life?" Novak said.
In fact, Nowak says a person's energy is unique to the exact place and minute they were born.
"The wheel changes every three minutes. Every three minutes...if you were a twin, and if you were born and your twin was born in four minutes, (he or she) would have a different wheel than you," she said.
So, the earth will continue to wobble, and the seasons will come and go, and whatever you believe to be your sign is already written in the stars.
"We are only interested in what's going on on this earth, with the sun, in equinoxes, and the energy that we're living here while we're in that portion of that time," Nowak explained.

Capricorn: Jan. 20-Feb. 16
Aquarius: Feb. 16-March 11
Pisces: March 11-April 18
Aries: April 18-May 13
Taurus: May 13-June 21
Gemini: June 21-July 20
Cancer: July 20-Aug. 10
Leo: Aug. 10-Sept. 16
Virgo: Sept. 16-Oct. 30
Libra: Oct. 30-Nov. 23
Scorpio: Nov. 23-29
Ophiuchus: Nov. 29-Dec. 17 (Yes, this one is new)
Sagittarius: Dec. 17-Jan. 20
who wants to change it after all these years? NOT me but it doesn't have anything to do with my Birthdate. ONLY Dates between (NOV.29-DEC.17)OPHIUCHUS is the New Sign NAME.
